- Summer English 作文佳句結集 - 2024

今日係英文暑期班Creative Writing嘅一堂,見到學生嘅作品不禁高興咗一下。

2024嘅英文班大約分4大部分:Language / Poem Analysis / Creative Writing / Shakespeare

Language教唔同嘅Language Device like Simile, Metaphor, Onomatopoeia, Alliteration, Personification, Oxymoron, Pathetic Fallacy, Hyperbole etc;

Poem Analysis 教不同Stanza / Verse 於不同Poem Type中嘅特性如Shakespeare 好鍾意用嘅Sonnet, 又或是英國大部分詩作Blank verse etc;

Creative Writing 則教點樣寫Story, Descriptive Writing & Non-fiction;

Shakespeare 除咗會介紹莎士比亞嘅背景外,仲有佢會點樣響Beginning of the play set scene 去描述時間、人物性格、戲劇編排等。


好高興見到咁多優質嘅作品,亦好感恩大家盡力去寫。為表揚大家嘅努力,在此分享吓學生們嘅作品節錄。大家都做得好好,繼續努力,共勉之。


今次Creative Writing Year 7 同 Year 8 嘅學生都係寫 "The Cave",Year 9 嘅學生寫 "The Mystery of the Empty House", Year 10 寫 The opening of the place of having storm, 當中唔少學生都識得用language Device嚟作出好句~大家活用 Simile、Personification、language skills、不同Sentence Structure等,就等大家一齊欣賞吓啦!

"I wasn't a professional runner but I felt like one when I ran for my life."

文章內容主要講述主角進入山洞後不小心按動了機關,與朋友一起逃命。

"My heart, body, was trembling with fear. They looted the gold. They laughed when they walked out. But they didn't make it. A beast ate them. I held my breath. The beast put the gold back. It was a trap! "

文章內容講述主角進入山洞後看見一群海盜正準備盜取地上的金條,被突然衝出的野獸襲擊,主角得知後醒覺原來是一個陷阱。

After school, they asked me the same question, 'Do you want to come with me and "find treasure"?'

呢位同學嘗試製造首尾呼應嘅效果,的確,睇到尾好強烈嘅一種 The beginning echoes with the end 嘅感覺,所以佢成功咗喇!

"When she arrived, she realised that it wasn't just a patch of dark rock - it was the mouth of a cave! Delilah's jaw dropped. Hesitating, she stood at the yawning mouth of the cave, unsure whether she should explore it."

文章舖排有條理,而且用到不同嘅技巧:如personification,同埋不同句式(如Gerund做開頭)去表達,如果可以再用多啲Descriptive Language(如Imagery)去仔細描述會更吸引。

"The only sound that could be heard was Delilah's uneven breathing and the slow drip, drip, drip of water above her head. Just as she couldn't bear the suffocating darkness anymore, the narrow stone passage widened out into a gaping cavern. "Woah," Delilah breathed, staring up at the stalactites above her. Her bright, observant eyes roamed the cavern, completely forgetting about the meows she had heard earlier.

此段描述主角進入山洞後嘅情況, 將懸疑同好奇嘅感覺透過描寫主角反應同環境帶出。

"the old house had rotton smells of woods and the carpet are as dirty as it had not been cleaned for 1000 years."

作者用Simile形容地毯舊到好似成千年冇洗咁樣,good use and good try. 同學們都好欣賞佢寫嘅比喻~

一個好完整、交代到細節嘅開端,喜歡作者開首嘅清晰,欣賞第四段嘅Tension Building。作者做到我響堂上教嘅 5-stage 嘅起 -叻仔

一個好引人入勝嘅部份,知道間屋會自己燃燒🔥,帶出Empty House嘅懸疑位,同埋亦埋下咗膽粗粗入去可能會有啲唔知咩危險嘅伏線。

善用Personification同埋不同嘅句子結構,想進步,要再多學Descriptive skills 同埋多學字。

今年嘅學生本身英文水平都有返咁上下,希望課堂可以比到Insight佢哋點樣可以進一步改善自己。
